Spanish SAR H225 helicopter performs evacuation with winds up to 75 kts

The Helimer 401, of the Spanish Maritime Safety Agency, with base in Coruña took off yesterday at 19:40 hours from the airport of Alvedro heading northwest to 158 Nm of coast.

The mission was to evacuate a man of 73 years who was indisposed, he was traveling aboard the Ventura ocean liner from the USA and destined for the UK.

The operation was carried out successfully, despite the severe weather that hits Galicia with six-meter waves and wind gusts up to 75 kts.

The helicopter landed at its base at 22:50 hours, the patient was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
