Coast Guard medevacs mariner near Cameron, Louisiana

HOUSTON — The Coast Guard medevaced a 46-year-old man off a work barge 27 miles south of Cameron, Lousisiana, Thursday afternoon.

Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a request from an representative from the salvage company Resolve Marine for the medevac of a crewmember on the work barge Conquest MB-1who had suffered a serious injury to his hand. Watchstanders notified the duty flight surgeon who recommended the medevac.

An Air Station Houston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew arrived on scene and transported the crewmember to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at Chennault Airport in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
The injured man was last reported in stable condition.
