Coast Guard medevacs man 12 miles east of Sapelo Sound

CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Coast Guard medevaced a 19-year old man Tuesday 12 miles east of Sapelo Sound, Georgia.

Coast Guard Sector Charleston Command Center watchstanders received a call at 10:36 a.m. from the 65-foot motor yacht Harmony stating a passenger suffered a head injury and was in need of medical attention.

Coast Guard Air Station Savannah MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew launched to assist at 11:36 a.m.

The Dolphin crew arrived on scene at 11:48 a.m., hoisted the man and transported him toSavannah Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
