Coast Guard medevacs crewmember from vessel near South Padre Island, Texas

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coast Guard medevaced a crewmember from a vessel 35 miles northeast of South Padre Island, Texas, Thursday afternoon.​

Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders recieved a call from the captain of the motor vessel Bow Gallant stating that a crewmember was in need of medical assistance and required a medevac.​ Watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon who recommended the medevac.

A Sector/ Air Station Corpus Christi MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew was launched and medevaced the man to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at Valley International Airport.​
