Coast Guard medevacs man from vessel 46 miles east of Myrtle Beach

CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Coast Guard medevaced a 47-year-old man Tuesday from a vessel 46 miles east of Myrtle Beach.

At 12:53 p.m, the Super Voyager III, a 110-foot charter vessel, contacted Coast Guard Sector Charleston watchstanders stating a passenger was suffering from chest pains and was in need of emergency care.

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Facility Charleston diverted to assist and arrived at 1:48 p.m., hoisted the passenger and transported him to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for further care.
