Coast Guard, state, local agencies searching for 2 missing in Potomac River

BALTIMORE — Two men are missing Sunday, after a tugboat crew saw the men's boat capsize in the Potomac River, about a mile south of Leesylvania State Park in Virginia, and called 911.

Boat crews from Coast Guard Station Washington, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police, Prince William County, Fairfax County and Charles County are searching the 47 degree Potomac waters for the men. A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Atlantic City, New Jersey, is also joining the search.

The tug, Amberjack, was mooring nearby at Cockpit Point when they saw the two men enter the water, but could not locate them by the time they got to the area where the boat capsized.
