Coast Guard medevacs 79-year-old man from cruise ship 64 miles southwest of Key West

A Coast Guard Air Station Miami MH-65 Dolphin Helicopter crew hoists a 79-year-old man from the cruise ship, Norwegian Sky, 64 miles southwest of Key West, Florida, July 4, 2018. The aircrew transported the patient, who had suffered from chest pains, to Jackson Memorial Hospital for further care. 


MIAMI — The Coast Guard medevaced a man Wednesday from a cruise ship 64 miles southwest of Key West.

Medevaced was Miguel Negron, 79.

At 12:51 p.m., a crewmember aboard the Norwegian Sky contacted Coast Guard Sector Key West watchstanders stating Negron was suffering from chest pains and was in need of emergency care. 

Watchstanders launched an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Miami. The aircrew arrived at 4:45 p.m., hoisted Negron and transported him to Jackson Memorial Hospital for further care.
