Coast Guard medevacs woman off cruise ship in Tampa Bay

A U.S. Coast Guard Station St. Petersburg boatcrew medevacs a woman from the Carnival Miracle cruise ship in Tampa Bay, Florida, Feb. 2, 2019. The 75-year-old woman was reportedly suffering from stroke like symptoms and was transferred to Fort De Soto Fishing Pier where a Pinellas Fire and Rescue crew was awaiting.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The​ Coast Guard medevaced​ a 75-year-old woman Saturday in Tampa Bay.​

Coast Guard Sector​ St. Petersburg command center watchstanders received a call at 5:36 p.m. from medical personnel aboard the cruise ship Carnival Miracle stating a passenger was suffering from stroke like symptoms.​

A Coast Guard Station St. Petersburg 45-foot Response Boat-Medium​ boatcrew launched to assist and arrived at 7:28 p.m.

The boatcrew assisted the woman aboard and transported her to Fort De Soto Fishing Pier where a Pinellas Fire and Rescue crew was awaiting.​
