Histórico: el Airbus Helicopters H225 ha sido el primer helicóptero pesado extranjero (clase de 11 toneladas) en recibir la certificación por la autoridad aeronáutica rusa

Fue el 2 de diciembre del 2015, cuando desde Marignane Airbus Helicopters anunció la certificación del H225 por parte de la autoridades de certificación en Rusia. 

Esto marcó un hecho histórico, puesto que fue la primera vez que un helicóptero pesado de fabricación extranjera obtuvo la certificación en Rusia. Con ella se abrió el mercado para helicópteros "all weather" en países como Azerbaiyán, Armenia, Bielorrusia, Kazajstán, Kirguistán, Moldavia, Rusia, Tayikistán, Turkmenistán y Uzbekistán, para los cuales el H225 se adapta perfectamente a través de su sistema de deshielo. 

Al combinar la capacidad de transporte de hasta 19 pasajeros (así como la capacidad de realizar cargas pesadas externas), el H225 ofrece la gama más extensa de la industria. 

Una gira de demostración organizada durante el verano del 2016 permitió a los operadores offshore rusos comprobar de primera mano las capacidades del AFCS con cuatro ejes único del H225, además de su magnífica disponibilidad operacional y su comodidad durante el vuelo. En agosto de hace dos años el helicóptero también participó en el Airshow MAKS, celebrado en Moscú.

"El H225 es la respuesta a las necesidades operacionales en Rusia: reúne su gran fiabilidad, de primera clase, bajo condiciones climáticas extremas y sus modernos sistemas de aviónica le permiten volar de forma más segura y a mayor alcance frente a cualquier otra solución", Olivier Scheier, gerente de ventas para Oil & Gas en Rusia. "El H225 es muy capaz en los entornos más difíciles, y garantiza el más alto nivel de disponibilidad para realizar la misión, incluso llegando a los lugares más remotos".

Aproximadamente el 70% de la flota mundial del Super Puma es operado para el transporte de personal y logística en la industria Oil & Gas en alta mar, entre los que se incluyen el Golfo de México, el Mar del Norte, África, Asia y América del Sur. 

Hasta la fecha, la familia Super Puma ha acumulado sobre 6 millones de horas de vuelo en todo el mundo, bajo todo tipo de condiciones climáticas, incluidos entornos offshore altamente desafiantes. 

South Korea's National 119 Rescue Headquarters acquires two H225 helicopters

New order will bring its all-Airbus fleet to six helicopters

Seoul, Airbus Helicopters has been awarded a contract from South Korea's National 119 Rescue Headquarters for the purchase of two additional H225 helicopters.

The National 119 Rescue Headquarters currently operates an all-Airbus helicopter fleet comprising two AS365 N2 and two H225. This new purchase will bring the fleet of the country's primary provider of firefighting and rescue services to six helicopters by end 2019.

The agency will be using these two multirole H225 helicopters for search and rescue missions, with the flexibility to reconfigure them to accommodate fire-fighting and emergency medical services equipment onboard the aircraft.

The H225, the latest member of Airbus Helicopters' Super Puma family, is an 11-ton category twin-turbine multirole utility rotorcraft which accommodates up to 24 passengers. Equipped with state-of-the-art electronic instruments and autopilot system, the H225 offers outstanding endurance and fast cruise speed, and may be fitted with various equipment to suit any role.  

Project Eagle takes flight

Marignane, Airbus Helicopters has gone a step further in the experimentation of its Project Eagle, with the in-flight validation of the innovative on-board image processing system.

Performed on an H225 flying testbed, the trials have demonstrated the system’s ability to select a small ground “target” from ranges of up to 2 miles and to automatically track it during the approach performed by the pilot. The flight tests have also validated Eagle’s architecture and main components, such as the gyrostabilized optronics package and the processing unit. The next steps of the testing campaign will focus on coupling Eagle with the automatic flight control system to fully automatise the approach to a selected landing area.

Codenamed Eagle (Eye for Autonomous Guidance and Landing Extension), this research project aims to federate the entire helicopter’s image processing functions and feed them into the avionics system, thus improving the crew’s situation awareness and reducing the pilot’s workload by automating and securing approaches, take-off and landing in the most demanding environments. The system is designed to be integrated on a variety of existing and future Airbus vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) vehicles.

Japan Coast Guard bolsters fleet with additional H225 order

New purchase brings JCG’s Super Puma fleet to 13 units

Berlin, 25 April 2018 – Airbus Helicopters has secured an additional order of one H225 helicopter from the Japan Coast Guard (JCG), bringing JCG’s H225 fleet to ten units. JCG currently operates three AS332s and five H225s, both from the Super Puma family. With this new order, the customer’s Super Puma fleet will grow to 13 units by March 2021, becoming the largest Super Puma operator in Japan.

The new H225 will join the rest of the fleet in security enforcement, territorial coastal activities, as well as disaster relief missions in Japan.

Equipped with state-of-the-art electronic instruments and the renowned 4-axis autopilot system, the H225 offers outstanding endurance and fast cruise speed, and can be fitted with various equipment to suit any role.

In Japan alone, a total of 21 helicopters from the Super Puma family are currently flown by civil, parapublic operators and Japan’s Ministry of Defense for various search and rescue missions, offshore operations, VIP, fire-fighting, and passenger and goods transportation.

El Helimer 401 busca a una mujer desaparecida esta madrugada en Riazor

La tripulación del helicóptero de SASEMAR con base en el aeropuerto de Alvedro (A Coruña) busca, desde esta madrugada, a una mujer desaparecida en la playa de Riazor.

El aviso fue recibido por el 112 Galicia poco después de que la joven de 22 años se metiera en el agua y una ola la arrastrara mar adentro (sobre las 4:45 horas). Las condiciones marítimas, debido a la sucesión de borrascas que azotan la CCAA, mantienen a la totalidad de la costa gallega en alerta naranja.

Inmedíatamente se movilizó al Helimer 401 que se mantuvo rastreando la zona a través del faro de búsqueda esclavizado al sistema IR/TV, ya que las condiciones nocturnas -durante las primeras horas- además de la meteorología adversa prácticamente imposibilitan la búsqueda visual ante la inexistencia de cualquier tipo de marcador en el agua.

Además de los medios de la Sociedad de Salvamento y Seguridad Marítima en zona, el H225 y la Salvamar Betelgeuse, están participando en las labores de búsqueda los bomberos de A Coruña con la Unidad Subacuática, la Guardia Civil a través de una de sus embarcaciones y el helicóptero Cuco con base en la misma ciudad, que estos momentos se encuentra cubierta por un BO105 Bölkow, además de la Policía Nacional, Local y otros servicios de emergencia por tierra.
