NHV AWARDED OFFSHORE CONTRACT DANA PETROLEUM
Aberdeen – June 7, 2018
The NHV Group today announced a new long term contract with Dana Petroleum to provide helicopter services to their central and northern North Sea assets. Daily flights will depart from NHV’s base in Aberdeen to the Triton FPSO in the Central North Sea and Western Isles FPSO in the East Shetland Basin for a period of 5 years. This also signals the start of NHV’s longest range scheduled flight using the H175 in support of the Western Isles FPSO. NHV will add another brand new H175 to its fleet in Aberdeen to support their new customer. The contract award has also created a number of employment opportunities at NHV’s Aberdeen base.
NHV will support this project utilizing the state-of-the-art H175 aircraft, an Airbus Helicopter’s Super Medium type. The H175 is specifically designed to meet evolving mission needs in the oil and gas industry. Being the launching operator for this aircraft type, NHV’s H175s have accumulated extensive experience with more than 23.000 FHRS in the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Ghana and Denmark since 2014. The NHV Group ultimately will increase its fleet to 16 of these new-generation helicopters.
NHV started operating out of Aberdeen at the beginning of 2016 and announced the opening of a new hangar, apron and passenger handling facilities in October 2016.
Martin Lawson, Dana’s UK Operations Manager said: “Dana is pleased to award NHV with a five year aviation support contract that will provide us with the most up to date aircraft available. We are confident that NHV will deliver our aviation requirements across our North Sea assets in a safe, cost effective and fit for purpose way.”
NHV’s base manager Jamie John commented: “We are delighted that Dana Petroleum have selected NHV to provide helicopter services to their North Sea operation. We are excited to begin this new partnership and look forward to supporting Dana’s operations in the North Sea. A brand new H175 will be added to our Aberdeen base and has created a number of new employment opportunities. The start of this contract also allows us to showcase the capabilities of the H175, in what will be its longest range scheduled flight in support of the Western Isles FPSO. The award of this long term contract has created a real buzz around NHV and we are all looking forward to getting started.’’
