Coast Guard medevacs woman from cruise ship off Manasquan Inlet, New Jersey

PHILADELPHIA — The Coast Guard medevaced a woman from a cruise ship after she was reportedly having medical complications approximately 40 miles east of Manasquan Inlet, New Jersey Sunday night.

Watchstanders at Sector Delaware Bay command center were contacted at 9:54 p.m. by a crewmember on the cruise ship Norwegian Escape and notified that the 39-yer-old woman was having issues and needed medical attention.

An aircrew aboard a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Atlantic City launched to assist.

Once on scene, the crew hoisted up the woman and her husband and transported them to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Pomona New Jersey.

Coast Guard suspends search for missing boat technician in Curtis Creek, Md.

BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard suspended its search for a missing boat technician in Curtis Creek at 6:28 p.m. Sunday.

The missing man, Allen Van Dyke, was last seen working on a 25-foot vessel at Jaws Marine boat shop Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

Maryland Natural Resources Police found said boat unmanned in Curtis Creek at 10:15 a.m. and alerted watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Maryland-National Capital Region in Baltimore.

Crews from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, New Jersey, and Station Curtis Bay searched a total of 53 square miles in 28 hours.

Personnel with the MNRP, Baltimore City Fire Department and Maryland State Police also contributed to search efforts on shore, air and sea.​

“We worked extremely closely with our remarkable state and local partners to do everything we could to return Mr. Van Dyke to his family,” said Capt. Joseph Loring, commander, Coast Guard Sector Maryland-National Capital Region. “Despite the extensive search effort, we were unable to locate him.​ Our hearts go out to Mr. Van Dyke’s loved ones.”

The Coast Guard will be working with partner agencies to determine the cause of the incident.

Coast Guard, local partners searching for 2 men near Stoney Creek, Md.

BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard and Maryland Natural Resources Police are searching for two men who went missing while crabbing in the vicinity of Stoney Creek Saturday evening.

A good Samaritan notified watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Maryland-National Capital Region’s command center at about 5 p.m. Saturday that they found a debris field in the water 300 yards off the Brandon Shores Power Plant.

The items found included empty beer cans, a throwable flotation device, a cooler with an I.D. inside and a gas can that appeared to have been snapped off a boat.​

An MNRP boat crew arrived on scene, joined by a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium from Coast Guard Station Curtis Bay shortly thereafter. After investigating the debris, both crews searched the vicinity for signs of people in distress.

Sector Maryland-National Capital Region watchstanders confirmed today that two people associated with the I.D. in the debris field did in fact go crabbing yesterday.

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Atlantic City, New Jersey, joined the search efforts this morning. Another RB-M crew from Station Curtis Bay is currently searching the Stoney Creek, Rock Creek and North Beach areas. An MNRP crew is presently searching as well.​

Coast Guard, partner agencies searching for missing boat technician near Curtis Creek, Md.

BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard and partner agencies are searching for a missing man who was last seen working on a vessel at a boat shop in Curtis Bay Saturday morning.

Maryland Natural Resources Police personnel called Coast Guard Sector Maryland-National Capital Region command center watchstanders around 10:15 a.m. to notify them that a 25-foot vessel had been found unmanned​ in Curtis Creek, less than 1 mile from Jaws Marine boat shop.

Allen Van Dyke, a technician at the boat shop, was last seen around 9:30 a.m. wearing dark clothing and working on said vessel.

A 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew from Coast Guard Station Curtis Bay in Baltimore and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Atlantic City, New Jersey, launched to search for Van Dyke.

Also searching are crews with the MNRP, Baltimore City Fire Department and Maryland State Police.

Coast Guard searching for man overboard near Ambrose Channel, N.Y.

NEW YORK – The Coast Guard is searching for a man who reportedly fell overboard from a container ship in Ambrose Channel, New York, Saturday morning.

Missing is a 35-year-old man reportedly wearing an orange jumpsuit and no life jacket.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New York received a mayday call from the container ship Northern Jaguar reporting that a crewmember had fallen overboard while arranging a pilot ladder in heavy sea conditions.

Assets involved in the search are:

-Coast Guard Cutter Shrike, an 87-foot cutter homeported in Sandy Hook, New Jersey.

-An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Atlantic City, New Jersey.

-An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

The Coast Guard is requesting that all mariners in the area keep an eye out for this missing person, and please call the Coast Guard at 718-354-4353 if you have any information.
