Jean-Marc Nasr appointed President Asia-Pacific, Airbus

Singapore, 14 January 2019 – Airbus has appointed Mr Jean-Marc Nasr as President Asia-Pacific, effective 1 January 2019.

Based in Singapore, Jean-Marc Nasr will be responsible for Airbus’ overall strategy, industrial footprint and operations in the region, as well as for advancing the company’s “One Roof” policy to integrate its various business entities in key markets. The area led by Jean-Marc Nasr covers the whole Asia-Pacific region.
In addition, Jean-Marc Nasr is concurrently nominated as Head of Regional Sales Asia-Pacific, including China and India, for Airbus Defence and Space. In this role, he will be responsible for sales of the company’s complete range of defence and space products in this area.
Jean-Marc Nasr was until the end of December Head of Regional Sales for the Middle East, Africa, France and the UK for Airbus Defence and Space. He joined the division (then EADS Defence and Security) in 2005 and has previously held key management positions leading the secure networks, integrated systems and cyber security businesses.
Born in 1961, he began his career with Aérospatiale in 1986 and has an engineering degree from France’s Ecole Supérieure d'Electricité and a PhD in Physics from the University of Paris.
“Jean-Marc has successfully led a diverse range of businesses within the Airbus organisation,” said Patrick de Castelbajac, Airbus Executive Vice President Strategy and International. “His proven management skills, commercial track record and international experience make Jean-Marc the right choice to build further our presence in one of most important regions for all areas of our business. We wish him every success.”
Jean-Marc Nasr succeeds Mr Pierre Jaffre, who has led Airbus in the region for the past 18 years. Pierre Jaffre will remain with the company until October 2019 to ensure a smooth transition with his successor.
Patrick de Castelbajac added: “We thank Pierre for his excellent contribution and dedication over the years he spent at Airbus and wish him all the best for his future endeavours.”
