Coast Guard members at Station Freeport, Texas carry a man towards an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew Aug. 12, 2018. The man was reportedly suffering from seizure-like symptoms and was transferred off his fishing vessel by a Station Freeport 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boat crew.

HOUSTON — The Coast Guard medevaced a 57 year-old-man from a fishing vessel approximately 26 miles south of Freeport, Texas, Saturday night.

Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a request for a medevac from the captain of the 68-foot fishing vessel Anna after a crewmember was reportedly suffering from seizure-like symptoms. Watchstanders notified the duty flight surgeon who recommended the medevac.

An Air Station Houston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew and a Station Freeport 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boat crew arrived on scene to assist. Due to weather conditions and fishing nets rigged on the vessel, the crewmember was transferred to the Freeport boat crew and taken to Station Freeport.

The Air Station Houston aircrew transported the crewmember from Station Freeport to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he was last reported in stable condition.
