Northrop Grumman Receives Eighth Consecutive FAA Diamond Award

Federal Aviation Administration AMT Diamond Award of Excellence recognizes company’s commitment to training

ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. – July 5, 2018 - For the eighth year running, Northrop Grumman’s Rolling Meadows Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Certified Repair Station has been recognized with an Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Diamond Award of Excellence for the company's commitment to maintenance training and safety.

The Diamond Award recognizes facilities at which all aviation maintenance professionals have completed a series of rigorous training courses. This year, 36 employees at the Rolling Meadows Certified Repair Station were recognized with individual AMT awards for their achievements.

“Our customers rely on our infrared countermeasure (IRCM) systems to provide protection against IR threats, so the commitment our employees make to training and education is vital to keeping those systems ready for any mission,” said Bob Gough, vice president of programs, land and avionics C4ISR division, Northrop Grumman Mission Systems.

The FAA Certified Repair Station was opened in 2009. Northrop Grumman’s IRCM systems have been installed on more than 1,400 aircraft of more than 85 different types.
